For the sixth time, the largest and most effective milk producers in Lithuania were awarded at dairy fest ‘Pienės 2019’. The Ministry of Agriculture and news portal ‘pienukis.lt’ brought the best milk producers in the country together and thanked them for their contribution to the agriculture of the country. Agricultural company Šakiai District Lukšių ŽŪB was ranked among the largest and most efficient milk producers.
Šakiai District Lukšių ŽŪB took the second place in terms of efficiency, and milked at average 11,262 kg from a cow, while Sidabravo ŽŪB took 3rd place and milked 10,471 kg from a cow.
Top 10 largest and most efficient Lithuanian dairy producers are selected from the 500 largest farms. They hold 93 thousand cows and sell 680 thousand tons of milk (50% of all milk sold in Lithuania). The 500 largest farms are divided into 2 categories: companies and family farms. In each category, ten largest and most efficient milk producers in Lithuania are ranked.

In the spring elections of the Lithuanian Cattle Breeders Association (LGVA) the most productive member-farms in the category of farms with more than 200 cows were chosen: Šakiai District Lukšių ŽŪB was ranked 1st , and the second place was received by Sidabravo ŽŪB.
