Key facts
Whole Cycle Poultry Business
The poultry companies within the Group manage every aspect of the production chain from field to table.
The whole cycle poultry business cycle includes incubation of hatching eggs, feed manufacturing for self-supply, rearing broilers, production of poultry and poultry products, and retail sale of chicken meat and its products.
In Latvia, from the beginning of 2020, broilers are raised without antibiotics, and chicken production is labelled “Raised without antibiotics”; the share of antimicrobial-free production in Lithuanian poultry farms is 80%.
About 50% of the Group’s poultry production is exported, the main export markets being Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Finland, Ireland, Romania, Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and others.
Cereal Products
We are a trusted partner in the food industry. We specialize in the production of flour, baking, and breading mixes designed to enhance the taste of your products.
Flour is manufactured at the Kauno Grūdai grain mill in Kaunas, the largest flour producer in Lithuania (70 thousand tons annual capacity). Part of the flour produced at the mill is supplied for the production of noodles and breadcrumbs coatings. Sales of flour and flour mixes are more than 90% directed to the Baltic markets.
Breading is manufactured at the breading plant in the Kaunas region (12 thousand tons annual capacity).
Most of the breadcrumbs produced are exported, with the main export destinations being Great Britain, Poland, and Hungary; breading is also used to prepare poultry meat products.
We plan to launch a new breading coatings factory in 2025 and double the production.
Instant and Ready-to-eat Products
As pioneers in the region’s instant products industry, we offer a broad range of instant products and ready-to-eat meals.
The Group’s company, AB Kauno Grūdai, produces instant porridges and noodles in its factories located in Kėdainiai and Alytus; their total annual production capacity is 265 million units. A modern robotized ready-to-eat products factory in Širvintos capable of producing 9 million units per year has been a part of our Group since July 2023. It produces organic soups, stews, cereal meals, and organic vegetables in pouches.
The majority of instant food production is private label orders, mainly exported to the UK, Spain, the Czech Republic, Scandinavia, and the Baltic markets. Ready-to-eat orders are mostly branded and exported to the US, Germany, the Baltics, and Asia.
Our subsidiary, Kauno Grūdai, is testing a second instant noodles factory in Alytus and plans to double the total production of instant foods in 2025.
