Akola Group, one of the largest agribusiness and food production groups in the Baltics, has established a subsidiary, Akola bioenergy.
Mažvydas Šileika, Deputy CEO for Finance and Investments at Akola Group, says the new company will develop and manage biomethane and other renewable energy projects.
“Akola bioenergy was established to consolidate Akola Group’s activities and expertise in the field of renewable energy and to create the conditions for assessing and implementing investments related to this area,” Šileika said in a comment to BNS.
“The Group generates organic feedstocks suitable for biomethane production, including slurry, manure, and other agricultural and food production by-products. We therefore see biomethane as a natural extension of our business that enables us to use resources more efficiently,” he added.
According to Šileika, having a dedicated company provides greater flexibility in developing energy projects, administering potential EU and national funding, attracting financing, and managing investments.
Tadas Dailidėnas was appointed CEO of the company, which was incorporated in June 2026.
